Meet Ed
Ed has been involved in the martial arts community since 1986 when he began Shidokan Karate and street tactics training under the tutelage of Shihan Eddie Yoshimura and Bo Medenica. Since that time Ed has had the opportunity to train in various styles of martial arts including Muay Thai and Krav Maga as well as being one of the field training officers and defensive tactics instructors for Stations Casinos in Las Vegas, NV.
Ed currently holds personal training certifications from the National Strength, Conditioning Association (NSCA) and The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and is a Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Coach (MMACC) through the Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Association (MMACA). Although Ed specializes in strength conditioning for fighters and dancers he also has a special gift to help almost anyone get into the best shape of their lives.
Ed is also a former holder of a certification through the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB). This skill set he was able to utilize backstage with some of Chicago's top professional dance companies including Joffery Ballet Chicago, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Company, Joel Hall Dancers, River North Chicago Dance Company, Ballet Chicago, and Luna Negra to name a few.
